Here’s the Friday morning, end of week truth bomb you didn’t ask for: you’re not that different. I mean it. Contrary to what you might think, as you look into 2025 and consider all that’s in front of you - you’re not the only woman still white-knuckling it through the workday, popping ibuprofen like candy, or doom-scrolling
job boards or googling, “How do I fix this sh%t?” at 11 PM because you’re stuck in a soul-sucking career purgatory. While you might feel like you’re the only one silently unraveling at your desk or sleepwalking through the day and life, you’re actually part of a secret society of brilliant, bored, burned-out class of high-achieving, awesomely amazing class of women. And I see you.
That said, let’s take a hot minute and talk about who YOU might be right now:
1. The Physically Fried
You’re running on caffeine, cortisol, and vibes. Your body is screaming for mercy: headaches, chest tightness, chronic colds—maybe even bigger, scarier symptoms that you brush off because “It’s just stress, right?” 1000% that was ME.
🚨 The Reality Check: The American Psychological Association reports that 74% of adults experience physical symptoms of stress, and women are more likely to report health issues like anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia due to work-related stress. You’re not alone, but you are in danger if you ignore the signs.
2. The Confidence Crasher
Somewhere along the line, you started wondering if you’re even good at your job anymore (crazy, right? not crazy - women are doing this and you're NOT the only one). You’ve stayed in a role that makes you feel small, maybe because you’re trying to "stick it out" or prove something. Now, you're asking, “Am I even smart? Do I know anything? Or have I been faking it this whole time?” Again. CRAZY.
🚨 The Reality Check: Impostor syndrome is real, but it’s not the truth. Research shows that over 60% of women have reported questioning their skills and knowledge at work—especially during big transitions. But just because you’re questioning your competence doesn’t mean you lack it. Your surroundings might just be making you feel that way.
3. The Mastery Issue
Then there’s the woman who’s really good at her job—so good that she’s completely over it. Yep, that's a real thing too. You’ve achieved mastery, and now every day feels like rinse and repeat. You want something new, but when you search yourself for what that "something" might be, you have NO real idea where to start. Plus, there's that income part #breadwinner. It's a good problem (but a real problem) to have I know.
🚨 The Reality Check: Studies on career stagnation show that career boredom is more stressful than having a demanding job. That’s right—being unchallenged feels as bad (or worse) as having too much on your plate. No wonder you’re craving a new kind of challenge but don’t know how to articulate it.
Once Again, Here’s the Big Secret: You’re Not Special OR Alone
I’ve talked to hundreds of women just like you through the Ready Set Pivot (RSP) community and its inception in 2020. And RSP Lead Voices have connected, helped and guided many amazing, bold and unapologetic women just like you. You may think your situation is so niche and personal that no one could possibly understand, but we’ve got news for you: your story in so many ways is textbook.
That’s not an insult—it’s a sort of revelation. Because when you realize you’re not some tragic anomaly, you also realize that there’s a roadmap out of this. If other women like you have made it to the other side of burnout, boredom, or breakdowns, then so can you.
I and many of the women in RSP once felt like you, too. Now, they’re navigating the exact next steps to build the thing that energizes them again instead of draining them. Some have changed industries. Others negotiated the jobs they actually wanted. Some started businesses they never dreamed they’d have the guts to pursue. And still others just fire-started their networks to realize they weren't alone and to begin to challenge one another to find challenge and fulfillment in the chair they're currently in too.
Still, it all started with one step: recognizing that their pain wasn’t a flaw in their abilities—it was a misalignment between who they are now and the career life or location (yes, sometimes it IS just the environment) that no longer fits.
You Can’t “Out-Stick-It” When Your Career Is Making You Sick
You know me, I'm not really here to hand you a platitude-filled pep talk. I'm here to do what I do and deliver the real transparent tell truth:
✨ There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re not broken (but remember, you might be exhausted . . . and not even know it btw)✨ You’re not "bad at your job" just because you’re over it.✨ And you’re not alone—no matter how much it feels like you are. Seriously, you’re not.
And you don’t have to figure it out alone. Nor should you. At some point you’re going to need to feel what it’s like to be surrounded by women who are nodding their heads as they read this, saying, “Wow, that’s me.”
You’re not different. And that’s a good thing—because it means the solution exists. I've seen it happen for so many women just like you. And I'm ready to see it happen for you, too. Ready to see what’s possible when you stop waiting and start making change happen, for you and by you? Let’s do this together already.
